Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue (BRPBR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit pit bull rescue organization located in Southeastern, Pennsylvania.  We are a small network of hardworking volunteers and foster homes dedicated to advocating for the most misunderstood breed in the world:  The American Pit Bull Terrier.  We are completely devoted to the positive promotion of the pit bull.  While we work strictly out of the Philadelphia and NJ areas, we network with rescue groups and other informative groups all over the world.

We do not have a brick and mortar location for people to visit, AKA a kennel or a shelter.  We rely solely on our foster homes to provide the love and care our dogs need until they find their forever home.  If you are interested in fostering, please visit our foster page for more information and/or to submit foster application.

Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue was founded by Liss in January 2013. She adopted her first pit bull McCready (AKA "Reed") in 2005 and after owning a pit and realizing how misunderstood they really are, she decided to start volunteering. After volunteering and fostering for several different organizations, it only seemed natural to start her own registered non-profit rescue.

Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue is named after Liss' first "born," Reed, and her second pitty, Bella Blue, whom she adopted a few years after rescuing Reed. Since then, she has fostered over 75 pit bulls in her home and foster "failed" three more! Bella Blue, Hershey, Pesto, and Nova Layne complete her pack of 4. Sadly, Reed passed at the age of 14 on May 8, 2019. She also has started Bella-Reed Photography to help adoptable dogs gain exposure and has taken all of the photos on our website!

The Board of Directors, Coordinators, Photographers,  Referrals Representative, Foster Families, Website Manager, and Volunteers complete Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue. Teamwork and communication are crucial to the way Bella-Reed is run. We are known for our fast responses and thorough screening process for adoption. We want to be sure that the dogs we are rescuing from terrible situations don't EVER end up back where they began. To do that, you need a team you trust. We pride ourselves in being a "family" and often get together outside of rescue business. Consider joining our squad! Find out more in the foster and/or volunteer page.
